About the data
Source: the public USAspending.gov API (spending by geography and by category), place of performance, for the federal fiscal year shown (October to September). Contracts = definitive contracts, purchase orders, delivery orders and BPA calls (award types A–D). Grants = block, formula and project grants and cooperative agreements. Amounts are obligations, which can be negative after de-obligations. Population is the figure USAspending reports for each area.
Limits: place of performance is where the work happens; some awards list only a state or none. Department of Defense contract data appears with a 90-day delay. Fedflow is an independent tool by CyberMax, not a government site, and gives no legal, financial or bidding advice.
